Stop and Start....Stop and Start.....I do that with a lot of things....this blog included. Why....I don't know. Well...maybe for this blog I do....maybe I just feel that what I have to say or what I am doing is just not that interesting. But....who cares? Change of mindset....gotta view it as a journal....an avenue to get my thoughts on "paper" and if you care to comment...so be it and I would love to hear from you...but if not...that's okay, too.
What is one reason why you don't commit to doing something? I have found that mine is that I am afraid that I am going to fail. Growing up in a household where our failures were harshly penalized and your successes were overlooked....I am afraid of that failure....that feeling that you get when you let not only yourself down...but possibly someone else. So....I am starting to do things that may seem like little things to people but they are big to me. I have committed to 2 big races (1/2 marathon in November in AZ and marathon in January in FL).....with the fear that I will let my team/James down by my speed. Finishing....that is the goal....either with my partners in the races or by myself....whether first or last...that is my goal. Even if I am in dead last place.....I am still in front of those who dropped out or didn't sign up at all...right? YES!!!
So...that's where I am. We just got back from a nice vacation and back into the running groove I go. Sunday I went out for a nice run on the trail but was battling some sort of chest cold so I took it easy which was easy because I was/am following the Jeff Galloway plan for the marathon. I am going to go back out again tonight. His plan says a 30 minute maintenance run...but I will be going for more than that most likely.
This weekend I am taking the kids to the beach with some of my family and I hope to get a nice beach run in. I really enjoy running along the beach....nothing like natures music of the waves crashing to make a nice relaxing run.
How are you doing? What is something that holds you back?
Have a great one!

one year...one year ....one year!
Hola people! How the heck are ya? So....if you didnt gather.....one year til the half marathon in Arizona. Yay! I am excited and excited for the journey to get there. I realized a few minutes ago as a posted something on my cousins facebook page that not only is it one year, but at this time next year we will (not should) have our bling hanging around our necks. Awesome!
So, tonight I officially started my training and got some thinking done about what I want to accomplish while out on my run/walk. I went out for a two mile run/ walk tonight. It is the time of year that it is gettingdark pretty early, so by the time I went out at 6:52 p.m. it was full dark. With phne in one jacket pocket, flashlight in the other, and drink in hand I took off. At first I was a little nervous cause there were certain points that were realy dark. I think that txvhis nervousness made me go even faster. I got to the one mile turn around spot and tried to take a picture to send to james but with it being s dark out, it didnt quite work. It was on the way back from the one mile mark that I really let myself get in the moment. I enjoyed the quietness of the night. An occasional car would drive by..but mostly the sounds I heard were my breathing and the leaves crunching under my feet. It was nice. Making me rethink the whole music thing. We will see!
I STARTED THE ABOVE ON FRIDAY WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY A YEAR TIL THE RACE BUT DIDN'T GET AROUND TO FINISHING IT TIL TODAY
So...since Fridays 2 mile adventure...3 more miles have been conquered. Connor and I went to the NCR trail and went three miles. It was nice. I decided to take the stroller instead of hearing that he was tired and having to lug him back. That would have been a great decision if it was a good stroller for a rocky path....it was a little interesting. But.........we did it and that is what counts.
I have decided to give myself rewards. I think that I am going to start at 25 miles...originally I was going to start out at 50 miles but I think I need to start out at a lower number and the more miles I accrue the more miles I can put between rewards. So...at 25 miles run/walked/conquered I am going to reward myself with something....a new shirt/bottle/skirt...whatever!
That's it for now! Happy Monday!

Snow...in October...really?
Interesting....this weather is interesting. We have had an odd couple of months...extreme heat...oodles of rain...an earthquake...a hurricaine....and now snow in October? They are saying that we may get up to 5 inches. There goes Paige's soccer game and the pictures that go along with it. So...my plan is to make some yummy corn/potato chowder and break out the sandwich maker for some nice and toasty ham/cheese sandwiches. Sounds like good snowy/rainy/cold food!
Last week I had no zumba! It sucked....I missed it. Tuesday Paige had a school event and Thursday we had family come into town. It was a toss up whether I would go Thursday...I probably should have seeing as we only hung out at the house. I am glad to be back into it, though. Tuesday was a bit tough cause I was wiped out from the weekend. Last night went well. Time to start throwing some runs/walks into the mix, too.
So...I was thinking about the one part of my body that I struggle with the most to lose weight. Yeah we all have some belly jiggle but we know what to do to get rid of that. My biggest archnemesis is my thighs. Damn things. Gotta work on them. From what I have been reading, running should help with it. We shall see!
What's your archnemesis?

13 point YAY!
YAY! That's how I feel most of the time about this race right now. Will my excitement waver with the fear about not being able to do it...the reality of how I am so not ready for it right now? YES! But, I need to focus on the right now. Of course I am not ready for it right now...that's why I didn't opt for the one that is November 2011. I will be able to do it...not going to be the fastest....probably not going to be the slowest....but I will cross the finish line.
I texted my cousin (Terri) yesterday about the race and this morning she told me that she is going to do it! So excited! I am even more excited because she lives closer so we can do our long runs together. There is a nice trail in between where she lives and I live ...it is one that my hubby used to train for his runs on. I plan on going on a long walk...with some running mixed in on Sunday...just to start my path to training. Back to Terri...I am so excited that she is coming! Not only will we be able train together but we can travel out there together and be each others crutch on the way back...cause I foresee some pain. Well....then I guess I should say that we can laugh at each other!!
Ooh..maybe I should state the exercise I have done this week. That's a good thing to add. So, I love Zumba. I didn't think that I would...but I do. My Tuesday instructor thinks that I should become an instructor. Possibly...maybe...we will see. Anyway...my usual Tuesday instructor was out (Sharon) so we had Hilary who is the instructor for Thursdays. Oh....I should mention that Sharon and Hilary have way different styles. I feel that on Tuesdays I get more of a stregnth/core workout and on Hilary I get a super cardio workout. So....I had an hour of super intense cardio on Tuesday and another on Thursday evening. I think that I am going to keep it like that and just add running in between. We will see!
Now...onto finding some fun running songs. Have any ideas?

13 Point What?
Hi all! It's been a long time...too long! Hope everyone is doing well. I was going to start a whole new blog about my new goal of 1/2 marathon next year...but then realized that I could just change the name. Here is the first posting I wrote on the new blog (which has since been deleted...lol).
13 point what?
Yup....13 point what?!?!? Oh boy. 3/4 of me is excited and 1/4 of me is like holy s#$& what am I getting myself into.
So...how did this start? It started by going to the Army 10 Miler packet pickup and expo this past Saturday. I am always excited about going to packet pick ups because there are fun goodies and cute workout attire. I was looking forward to going to the Womens Running Magazine table because I always seem to have nice conversations there that kind of gives me food for thought....plus the free magazine doesn't hurt! Ha! So...there I was in the very far corner of the expo at the Womens Running Mag table...and the lady hands me a save the date card. The first one I see is the 1/2 marathon for next November in Arizona. I believe the lady told me that it is going to be in Phoenix..although it is not written anywhere. I remember getting a little excited thinking I could run with my sister in law (Hi Annie). I am not sure what happened from there....whether I mentioned running it or whether my husband did but it stuck in my head to run this one. We called Annie on the way home from the expo and left a message informing her that she WILL be running the 1/2 on November 4, 2012 in Phoenix.
Now...where's my head? I am over all excited. Annie has committed to running a 1/2 with me next year (which will be the one in Phoenix unless she moves) and my other sister in law (Hi Julie) might be running with us, too. Would be cool to have all the Butler girls out there running. All of us are new so we can keep each other company at the back of the pack.
I have dabbled (I say this very loosely) in running in the past...having ran a 5k back in June. Since it got hot I haven't ran because I hate the hot....but I didn't just sit and do nothing. I have been going to zumba 2x a week which I love and is a good cardio workout. Now...I need to work running in. It seems that all the training programs are short so I may be brave and figure out one for myself. I/we have just over a year to train so I don't really want to follow a 12/15 training program because I am more apt to hurt myself.
I am also wanting new attire. I know...may sound stupid to you...but that's okay. I want to feel fun and not just wear the same black shorts/monotone shirts/regular socks/regular shoes. So...while I am going to stick with my mizuno shoes....I am going to find some fun clothing. I am hoping to start with a simple thing like socks. Who knew that the compression socks were so expensive and they are the ones that are longer and will stay up while running. Hopefully I will find a pair or two on clearance somewhere. I also may want to get a running skirt (I know..I know James...I said I would never get one). I like the idea that they have the little spandex short underneath. James thinks I should get a tutu---always a possibility. My newest thought and one that may go with is getting regular white compression socks (which are cheaper) and tye dye them! Might also do the same thing to a tech shirt and see how that comes out.
Anywho...first post...a long rambling of thoughts regarding the race...I am excited! Til tomorrow!

Whoooooo!
Whooooo! Big sigh of relief. $6000?!?!?! Not any more! I just got online and checked the insurance claim and all of it was paid except $30! Now that is better. After reviewing it I realized more so why doctors charge so much! Out of that charge over $4000 was discounted through the in network agreement. That is over half that he lost! Geez.
So....March 1st is the big change over day. Had an issue with my incision and while it is still open...it is not as open as it was...so I had to wait a little longer to exercise and stuff. Well--March 1st is it. Time to get busy with getting fit! I have a weight goal in my head and maybe one day soon I will post it on here. My short term goal is to get out there moving and find a video that I like to do on the other days. That gives me almost 3 months til we fly til Texas for James' friends wedding to get into a dress that I love and feel more comfortable with how I look.
Any suggestions as to what dvd to work with? Any advice for weight loss/getting fit? What did you do?

Beyond Frustrated!!!!!
INSURANCE COMPANIES.....does that say enough? ARGH!!!!
So....I checked on the status of my claims online for my surgery. Why is is that EVERYTHING (except $50 for the hospital) was covered except for the surgeon? REALLY? SERIOUSLY? Ummm....excuse me insurance company you gave me a pre-authorization! Online it is listed that they are not affiliated with the doctor but ummmm...YES YOU ARE! You paid for my pre surgery appts.....and you have a contract with the doctor......and he is listed online. So...I spent about an hour on the phone with them and even the woman who investigated it was stumped. She forwarded it to the adjusters with notes and said that I would be hearing from her within 14 business days. I then called the doctors office and they were stumped to. They are going to contact their contact to see about it. So here is the breakdown of costs:
$7608.80 Outpatient surgical center
$1680.20 Anesthisiologist
$ 888.00 Oncologist to review stuff they took out
$6000.00 Surgeon expenses
TOTAL: $16,177
That is a crazy high number!!!
I have faith that they will get that bill fixed....especially since everyone is stumped why they denied it. Hopefully it was that the person just hit the wrong button.
Anyway--hope you are doing well!

Antibiotics....don't know what's worse taking them or not!
Hi all. Sorry I didn't update. Kept meaning to....but didn't. So...here I sit at the end of a VERY busy work day. It is quiet now..thank goodness. I took another dose of my lovely antibiotic a little bit ago....in between bathroom visits. Ugh...stupid stomach or whatever. I have been hit full force by the side effects of diarhea, nausea, and tiredness. I haven't even had a bite to eat today...and a co worker brought me in some yummy looking chicken and dumplings...but I can't bring myself to eat it. Fun times.
So--cleaning is coming along. The hallway bathroom is pretty much done. The bedroom is a work in progress. I got A LOT of stuff out of there and still have some more to get out of there. Loaded bags upon bags into my car and took them to a local apartment dumpster (shhh don't tell). I started working on the hallway last night. I find that if I work too long on one room it feels more daunting...like to go from working on the big room to the little rooms such as the bathroom and hall and then going back to the big room. Feels like something is getting down...however slowly. I am hoping to get some more done tonight..but I am feeling like crap...so I will most likely work as long as I can get the kiddos to stay in the bath and then a little more.
Anyway...how is your week going? Oh--have to give props to the hubby who ran 16 miles on Sunday in preparation of his marathon in March. Way to go, babe!

Fit isn't just physically fit....
So....fit isn't just physically fit. It is mentally fit....and many more "fits" as well. I have a problem....and my husband can concur (and probably will)...I go gung-ho for what I want....but with something that takes awhile I go so gung ho that I either give up or I hurt myself. This comes to job hunting, cleaning, running, and a lot of other things. Well....I am on a slow start with my running because of the infection that I now have.....so I have to take that and focus it on somewhere else. I am blogging about it so that it keeps me more motivated....and I have to live up to my written word. So...here it is. I am a pack rat....I buy stupid stuff thinking that it is good because it is cheap and be cause we "really need it". Yeah....not so much. Our house looks like stores threw up in it. I say stores cause it is not just target, walmart, etc....it is many stores....stuff still in the bags....stuff out of the bags....bags laying around....STUFF. So.....I made a first step. I had probably over 100 Boyds Bears figurines and as much as I loved them they didn't get the proper respect they deserved. They were in their boxes for years and years and years....never seeing the light of day. So----I freecycled them. They should be gone by the time I get home. Next.....bedroom. My plan (after getting oodles of black trash bags) is to pile all the clothes/blankets on the bed and literally throw everything else away (besides some things that are needed like my glasses..lol). Me, a can of coke, some music/movie playing, and a bunch of bags. That is going to be my night.....and it may be a late night cause I have been thinking about doing this for some time and after some discussion with James, I am going to do it. Then....move out to the hallway/bathroom/kids rooms. I will update tomorrow with progress and give my new goal. What's the big goal you have to accomplish? How do you keep your motivation?

Breathing....it's overrated
In the morning I feel....oh my cold crud is getting better. As the minutes and hours pass by one symptom after another comes back. So....here I sit breathing through one side of my nose, coughing, and wishing I could curl up and go to bed. Geez!!! Calgon take me away!
So---I had to e-mail the plastic surgeon today, too. If I didn't think that I would gross people out I would put a picture up of the part of my incision that decided it was going to pop open and ooze some fun colored stuff! Grossed out yet? Imagine having that happen to you! LOL. So...I took pictures of the area in question today and e-mailed it to Dr. Schreiber. He was great about it and calmed my fears but to be on the safe side he is calling me in a prescription for an antibiotic. He said that it can take 6-8 more weeks....and it won't look any better for awhile since it heals from the inside out. FUN TIMES!
We ended up finally finding another home for one of our dogs...Fala. She was 1 1/2 years old and had soooooooooo much energy. She needed room that she could run around off leash and we couldn't provide that for her. The kids weren't that into her, either. They are pretty subdued kids and Fala needed energetic kiddos. Paige and Connor are super attached with the older dog (toy poodle) Colby.
Off to find some tissues. So.....what's the one symptom that you can't stand when you are sick?

Where o' Where did Jen Go?
Hi there good people. I had it in my head that I would blog each day of my recovery from my surgery.....it didn't happen. Oops. So...here is a synopsis.
December 20th---had my surgery (bilateral breast reduction for those who didn't keep up). He took 700 from one side and 300 from the other. I went home (courtesy of my husband) and pretty much slept on and off the rest of the day. I had a hard time sleeping cause of not being able to sleep on my side.
December 21st---1st day post surgery. Paige was picked up by her father and he dropped her off at school and picked her up from school. I stayed home alone with Connor. It was an okay day. Took a few things for pain and opened some new toys for Connor (courtesty of a family xmas party on the 19th). The putting together of things repeatedly was a little trying on my sutures but it was okay.
December 22nd--day two post surgery. This is the last day that I took pain meds. I took Paige to school and took Connor through the drive thru of McD's for some pancakes. Then...it was another day on the couch. I took a nap and my back was really hurting so I e-mailed my plastic surgeon and asked him for a muscle relaxer. He called it into Target and I picked this up after picking Paige up from school. I didn't end up needing to take it...but it was nice to have just incase.
December 23rd and 24th--James was home so he took care of the kids. Well---mostly Connor cause Paige went with her father the evening of the 23rd and wasn't seen again til xmas day.
December 25th---we flew out to Oklahoma for a week. I took an 800 mg Ibuprofen just because since I was dealing with the kids, etc...
December 26th---I couldn't stand it anymore.....I took the gauze off. Oh boy. I had to sit on the floor of the bathroom for a good 10 minutes cause I thought that I was going to pass out. I don't know why I felt like this....I hadn't even seen them yet! LOL. Boy did it feel good not having all that padding...and it was a lot.
So---the week went on. No pain meds except for some ibuprofen here and there. The doc called and checked on me a few times (since my check up in office was supossed to be that week). I had some discharge from the suture site but apparently it was nothing to worry about. Parts of the incision are still tender and certain ways that I move are still a little painful. But.......it was great. I had my checkup and it was good.....except for some stitches being removed. I am clear for guarded exercise. I go back in 5 weeks.
Well---since I started writing this post...a week or so ago the above paragraph changed a bit. I had to go back and see the dr last Friday because part of my incision popped open....you see I have a horizontal incision and two vertical incisions (one each breast)...well where the horizontal meets the vertical there is a lot of tension there. So....it popped open and was oozing stuff...fun! I emailed the doc and he told me to come in and get it checked out. All is okay---just have to be more careful with some movements.
I have gotten one run/walk in. I am not sure how far I went. I walked and ran on the treadmill in the house for 1 1/2 hours. Then....the crud came on courtesy of the little germ carriers. Oh well!
Anyway---there is a synopsis about what has been going on. Please feel free to ask me any questions about my surgery/recovery. I know that some of you are considering the process. I would be glad to talk to you about it!

One Week
Really....one week? It is 9:20 a.m. as I write this. This time next week I should be inching my way to the recovery room. One week! It have wanted to do this for 15 years (if not more) and now I am only one week away? AHHH.
I am really starting to get nervous....really nervous. Excited nervous and scared nervous all at one time. Every so often the thought "am i making the right decision" pops into my head but that is easily popped right back out. I know that I am making the right decision. I have been making lists of things that I have to get done prior to next week such as wrapping, shopping, packing, etc.... I have nearly everything all put together for the trip. My stuff is in my suitcase...just have to put the kids stuff in, too. Today I have my pre-op physical and tomorrow I meet with the plastic surgeon one last time. At that time I will get some herbal supplements (arnica montana) and my prescriptions for pain pills. I have not been able to take an pain killers (i.e. excedrin migraine, etc...) since last Monday (the 6th) cause you can't have anything with aspirin or ibuprofen for 2 weeks out. Surprisingly, I have not really had a headache. Knock on wood!
I am determined to have everything done this weekend so that I can enjoy this weekend with the family. Saturday James has a race and then who knows what we will do---James can take Paige and Connor to see Tron while I walk around....since I won't be able to comfortably walk around for long periods of time for a little bit. Sunday, Paige has dance lesssons and then we have to drive up to my parents to exchange gifts and then to my aunts for a holiday party. Good food and good company!
So---I have 3 more gifts to get (1 is a gift card and I finally got the sizes for two other little girls). I am going to pick out outfits for the kids for next week and put the in bags so that way it is easier to get them ready. I have to finish packing....oh and the biggest thing is that I have to keep from FREAKING OUT!! LOL.

Say it ain't so....and I got....
Say it ain't so folks...I AM SICK. Yesterday throughout the day I was feeling worse and worse and worse and then I made the decision...yup...I am sick. So sick that I knew that I needed meds. Off to Walmart I went with Connor in toe to get some nyquil and dayquil. I rested and went off to dream land courtesy of nyquil. I woke up GROSS! As soon as the doctors office opened, I called. I went it at 12:15 and came out with the diagnosis of bronchitis. Ugh.
Well....the doctor is choosing to be aggressive with the treatment of this one because I GOT APPROVED FOR THE BR! So--on the 20th I will be under the knife. I cannot go into this coughing!
So---working the rest of the day with this horrible cough and a fever and congestion and then off to Target I go to pick up my prescription.
Happy weekend!

Fit doesn't just mean physically but mentally, too
35 years.....that's how old I am. For the first 31 of those years....a lot happened. I can't remember a lot of it...but those moments that I can remember have left a mark on me. Those marks made scars....because I let them and because I didn't let them and the events go.
So, here I am. Scarred.....and needing to let the hurt and pain go that I have let build up. I am not going to blame the hurt on anyone else. Yes...the actions that caused the pain involved other people but the fact that I let the pain hold on to me is my fault. MY FAULT.
I wish that I knew an easy way to just "let it go" or "move on". It is so easy to say it. How does one do it? I have felt the feelings...I have felt the pain....I have felt the anger. Oh have I felt the anger. I have to forgive the people and their actions.
I have been reading about emotional hoarding, how to forgive others and let go, self forgiveness, and other such topics for the past couple of hours. I am definitely an emotional hoarder. Emotional hoarding is holding on to past grudges and negative feelings, allowing them to clutter your mind until you cannot mentally function in your present life. I wouldn't say that I hold onto grudges.....or maybe I do. I can honestly admit that I hold onto negative feelings.
Not having self-forgiveness makes it impossible to love oneself because the view of oneself is more negative than positive. I am human....I have made mistakes.....I have been hurt....I have hurt others.....I am human. How can I forgive myself for hurting others? I have to. What's that saying "to err is human, to forgive is divine"?
Okay...so here it is...or there it was. Positive outlook (reminding myself daily that I am a good person).....when a thought pops into my head dealing with hurt/dread/fear or other negative emotions...I am going to take a second....evaluate it.....decide if it is something valid that has to dealt with today? If it is....make a note of it if I can't deal with it at the moment....if it isn't something valid and is something that is just festering and is irrational I am going to take a deep breathe....and let it go. Breathe in the present and a touch of the future. I hope that as time goes on.....this practice will lead itself to the gradual letting go and the lessening of these feelings popping up.
What do you do to maintain a positive attitude even in the times that you are struggling? You never know....what you do could be the perfect thing for someone else!

Battered and Bruised......
Happy Thanksgiving short week! Battered and Bruised...that is what Paige and I are. My knee and foot are still hurting so I have been modifying the Jillian Michaels30 Day Shred. Paige, on the other hand, was accidentally pushed today and she was pushed into a metal bar on the playground. That would have been okay....but the part of her body that hit was her eye! Oh boy! She will most likely have a black eye tomorrow.
This leads me to Christmas cards. Do you do regular Christmas cards or do you do a photo of the kids or your family? I like pictures. Some years have been just the kids and some the whole family. Well, it is that time and now Paige is bruised. James already said that he is going to have to polish up on his photo shop skills. Well....then we get to visit Shutterfly and pick out some cards! LOVE IT! Take a look at those or these christmas photo cards on shutterfly. They even have collage ones which I love because you can show some memorable moments through the year! We have some pretty cute Disney pictures of the two of them and then other pictures that we took through the year that would look so cute......or we may just get that perfect picture of the kiddos in front of the fire place that may be "the picture" that will be the card this year. Whatever it is...I can't wait to experiment with the cards that shutterfly has to offer!
Right after the holidays the focus goes to birthdays and I see that they have super cute invitations. Usually we make our own photo card invitation but I might have to change it to shutterfly this year. They always have sales, too!
Well....I hope that you are all having a great short week and have burned enough calories to eat til your hearts content....although you should probably try not to eat to that point! LOL. I looked through my cooking magazines today and came across a pumpkin chiffon cake...it has 123 calories per slice and 2.5 grams of fat. Can't wait to taste it! Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Tick Tock Tick Tock
Hello everyone! How are you doing? Well....some big things this week. This week is the last week of the 3 challenges (sit ups, push ups, squats) that I have been doing. Now...onto the next challenge. I have it ALL FIGURED OUT!
Oh--first I should say that the doctor gave me to go-ahead to schedule my BR (breast reduction). It is set for December 20th at 7:30 a.m. I have to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. Fun times. I really wanted this date because the next whole week I am off and am going to Oklahoma with the family to visit family. This will be a great time to relax and heal. The issue that they had with scheduling is that my follow up appt would be one week later. Well, I will not be in town. The nurse spoke to Dr. Schreiber and he is okay with me waiting til I get back since he is going to use dissolvable sutures. I am excited and scared all at the same time. I am excited to get this done and move on with my aspirations to increase my health but scared about the procedure. Both feelings are normal so I am okay with it.
Anywho....back to my plan. So as of today there are 33 more days til my surgery. The exercise program that I was doing is a 30 day program. So---starting in three days I will officially be doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I hope that my laptop will be back by then and I can use that. 30-days to decrease the weight....increase the tone....and then the reduction. I won't feel as bad about having to take off a few weeks from exercising after doing the 30 days....I hope.
That will also give 3 more days for my stupid knee to feel better. I have bad knees from too much catching in softball (catcher that is). Last week I had a pain in the back of my knee and it felt like it was going to buckle but kind of the back way. It was odd. Yesterday, I started with a pain in the front inside part of my knee....lower area. It was mildly swollen. Stupid! This morning when I woke up I could barely walk on it. Ugh....and it still hurts. I am about to take an NSAID to see if that helps. I have no idea what I did.....but I certainly hope it gets better soon!
So---what's next. Finish the challenges, start the 30 day shred in 3 days, and get an appt for a physical to get all of my pre-op stuff. That's it here besides the hubby getting a new car over the weekend (that's a big stressor off since his car was one minute away from breaking down), parent visitation in the kindergarten classes tomorrow, and planning for our Christmas getaway. How is life your way?

Patience..patience....ugh just give me the answer!
Most of the day I can keep my mind OFF of the decision that the insurance company is going to make regarding my BR. Other times it pops into my head and makes me so anxious because I WANNA KNOW! I don't even know if the doctor wrote the letter to send in yet. Ugh. Patience...patience Jen.
Other changes are impending. I am working on some other life changing things relating to my career. You see...I have a masters degree in forensic studies...concentration law. I have been working in the human service/social work field for about 13 years now. I have a passion for law and investigation and I want to be doing that. I am stagnant where I am now and it is tiresome and draining. I take those feelings home with me and that is not good. So...I have contacted some old professors and the career center about getting the ball rolling. I just need someone to give me a chance in the field so that I can start building my experience up. James has been helping and has had some great ideas. Do any of you have any ideas how I can do this?
So...the night before last I started Jillian Michales 30 Day Shred. It kicked my ass. On top of that I had to do my challenges. My legs are still hurting! Last night I was going to do the shred but my laptop had an unfortunate meeting with the floor so it is in the repair shop. I am going to do it tonight....stupidly on the same night as my challenges. Will I ever learn? I hope to start seeing the results very soon.
So--this weekend will be car shopping for James and prepping for a baby shower...I have to make a cake and do the favors. I love making cakes...therapeutic of sorts! What are you doing this weekend? Whatever it is...I hope you have a good one!

And Now....The Waiting Game
So....I made it to the doctors. First I read and studied and read and studied. His practice has a pretty great website describing everything. http://www.baltimoreplasticsurgery.com/ It helped to have some information going into the appt.....and actually straight from his mouth. Dr. Schreiber was great. He asked me many questions and over and over throughout the process he would ask if I had any questions. So...after many pictures were taken (oh so fun) we sat down for the news. What is it..you ask? Hurry up and wait. He has to write a letter to the insurance company requesting coverage. He gave me a whole folder full of information including what meds to take when the days leading up the surgery....my thinking is that he would not have given me this info if he didn't feel positive about their answer. So---IF the answer comes back that I can go ahead and get the reduction I have to go in one more time to go over everything and get prescriptions for antibiotics/pain meds, etc.... I made an appt to get a full physical for next week so don't think that should be an issue. I don't want to get the word and then I can't get in with my primary doc for that. Gives me something to contribute to the waiting game.
I am guardedly optimistic about what the insurance company will say. I so want to be excited and looking forward to it but I know that there is a change that it might not be approved. So...I stick with things that I can control.....diet and exercise. I was going to start the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred tonight but my tummy is not accepting of it....think I ate something bad. So....tomorrow I will try and start it again.
Til tomorrow!

Tuesday is BR Day
What is BR day...you ask? Breast Reduction Day! Well---it isn't my actual surgery but it is my first step towards getting it done. I guess that you could say that today was the first step when I went to my primary doc to talk to him about it and also get seen for this pesky cough that I have had for about a month and a half. Turns out the cough is from all the post nasal drip I have from a stupid sinus infection. I did talk to him about the BR and he said that I won't have any problems getting it approved....actually what he says is that he is "very confident" that I will have no problems. That is a positive thing to say. The way I look at it is that they should pay for it now instead of paying for all the problems I will have in the future. As soon as I started talking about it with my doc (Dr. D) he knew exactly what I was talking about. We started talking about exercising and the hindrance(s) that I have with these. It was nice that he knew what I was talking about. My OB (or GYN at this point, I guess) is the one who referred me to the BD doc and Dr. D is good friends with Dr. O (GYN). He delivered Dr. D's twins. I know this because they were in the doc office several times when I was pregnant with Connor....or was it Paige....well one of them! Actually I think it was Paige.
Anywho....how am I feeling now? Nervous. I don't really know anyone else who has gone through this so besides the internet research that I have done...that is all I know. I hear that this doc is very personable. We will see!! I will let you know tomorrow how it went....or didn't go. LOL. Til then!
